Interaction & visual design explorations

Over the years, I thought a lot about how we listen to music. I practiced my interaction and visual design craft with these conceptual UI explorations.

Introduction

Why is it so difficult to keep track of all the music I want to listen to? With Catalog, listeners create playlists for music they will to listen to at a later time. Progress is tracked as users make their way through each playlist so they are held accountable for their listening.

Supposedly, music is a universal language. So, how can we connect heartbroken, lonely strangers over the internet with music? In Archives of Sadness, users listen to tracks and record their feelings into the ether for other internet strangers to read.

How can we help listeners be more intentional about the ways they listen to music? What if music was not only an aural experience, but a visual one too? Prompts invite the user to reflect on what they hear.
